Attorney, Writer, & Somatic Therapy Practitioner
Hi there! My name is Lee Price. I’m an attorney, writer, and somatic psychotherapy practitioner.
Somatic therapy is my second career. In 2010 I graduated from Brooklyn Law School and worked for over a decade as a public interest attorney. My legal work focused on fighting for domestic violence survivors and crime victims in court. I'm honored to have counseled hundreds of people recovering from trauma and abuse in that capacity. Working with survivors taught me so much about how to be with people as they process painful experiences and start to change their lives.
My personal work with somatic therapy began in 2015. After mixed experiences with traditional psychotherapy, I found working with trauma in the body and spirit helped me better address my own flawed behavioral, emotional, and cognitive patterns. As I began incorporating principles from these modalities into my work as an attorney and my own life, I saw that the power of healing through self-examination was undeniable. In 2020 I began an intensive four-year course of study at The Institute of Core Energetics in New York. My certification in Core Energetics is forthcoming in June 2023. Currently, I see clients as a student practitioner at a reduced rate under the supervision of a seasoned practitioner. My writing about my own life and experiences has been published in HuffPost, Slate Magazine, and other literary journals.
I deeply believe that humans are resilient, and that people can change the things about themselves that cause pain and no longer serve them. I’ve witnessed firsthand that this process helps folks develop a more authentic sense of self and live better, more easeful lives.
